Frequently asked questions
What Signeret records and what remains separate.
What does the agreement record?+
The parties, item, observed condition, disclosures, price, payment and handover promises.
Does it complete the official transfer?+
No. The agreement does not notify a licensing authority, transfer registered ownership, complete motor-tax or registration steps, or replace a prescribed form. For a registered ship, use the required statutory bill of sale and registry process separately.
Can we sign electronically?+
Irish electronic-commerce law generally permits electronic signatures for ordinary private agreements when intent and the evidence are sufficient. A prescribed form, witness, original instrument or excluded transaction keeps its own requirements.
Does Signeret verify ownership?+
No. Compare identity, authority, identifiers, registration, finance and other available evidence independently.
Which items are supported?+
Cars, motorcycles, trailers, caravans, boats, mopeds or scooters, and collectibles.
Is the service free?+
Yes. PDF download and the current digital-signing flow cost zero.
Can I add photos?+
Yes. Add relevant photos with permission and avoid unnecessary identity documents or sensitive material.
What consumer rules apply?+
A genuine private sale is not the same as a purchase from a trader. Mandatory consumer rights can apply if a seller is actually acting commercially, regardless of the label used by the parties.
